Happy Valentine’s Day! My two little Valentine’s are doing great! Natalie made the transition into a crib seamlessly this weekend and we’ve started our cloth diapers again. She wakes up at 6:30 on the dot! Nathan is talking up a storm, though most people can’t understand what he’s saying. I speak his language. Mostly, he repeats everything that is said!
The other day he said, “Eye go?” to a friend visiting, pointing to our snowman outside. The eye had melted off last week, but Nathan and Dan fixed it this weekend. One of his favorite snacks is “cumcum” or cucumbers. He is more than happy to join me in the basement getting food out of the freezer, off the canning shelves or to throw in a load of laundry. He was sorely missing his blankie when it was being washed and got excited as he pulled it out of the dryer.
We haven’t gone out much, so there’s been a lot of baking, cooking, cleaning and laundry. Nathan is a great helper in the kitchen. He can peel the garlic himself and he knows to look away because onions are “spicy” which is his way of saying they burn your eyes. He likes to help me make our salads and carefully puts all the veggies on top of the lettuce, tasting many of them along the way.
For the first time in our nearly 10 years of marriage Dan and I will be celebrating Valentine’s Day on the actual day! We’re headed out to eat while Grandparents watch our sweethearts!
